Full Life is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join our growing human services and healthcare team. This position will provide direct nursing care (e.g. injections, and Administrative work includes nursing assessments, nursing delegation plans, overseeing Medication Administration Records, medical charting notes, and training for staff (e.g. nutrition, CPAP machines, medication administration, G-tube flushes, etc.). Full Life provides a sign-on bonus, paid training, full benefits, paid vacation, and other benefits. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  1. Identify program participants' care requirements for Individual Support Plan (ISP) development;
  2. Develop and oversee medical training for program staff and supervisors;
  3. Develop and oversee nursing delegation plans for staff performing medical/clinical tasks as defined in the Medicaid Waiver Contract;
  4. Work with Program Coordinators to ensure continuity between medical care and daily programming of Direct Support Workers (DSW staff);
  5. Medication assessments, management, and storage (i.e. applies to medications that are self-administered, assisted with, or administered during the time the participant is receiving paid waiver services);
  6. Update medical protocols as needed;
  7. Accurately monitor/record data regarding patients' conditions and document all provided care services;
  8. Complete medical and administrative documentation in digital database recordkeeping systems (i.e. Sharepoint, Therap, etc.);
  9. Coordinate Physician's Orders, participant medical charts, etc.; and
  10. Report any adverse conditions/events to RN Manager and Program Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Must be willing to learn about developmental disabilities and the Home and Community-Based Medicaid Waiver through experience, training and research; 2. Must have experience with or be willing to learn to operate Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), Microsoft Office 365 (e.g. Sharepoint, Outlook & calendar, etc.), Therap, Adobe Reader, and other apps used on electronic devices; 4. Must have strong organizational and teamwork skills; 5. Must be able to multi-task effectively; 6. Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure; 7. Must be able to represent Full Life in a professional manner; 8. Good communication skills and the ability to relate well to others including community members; and 9. Must be able to travel to participant homes in Kona and Hilo. Requirements of this position: 1. Current, valid Registered Nurse license in Hawaii;

  1. One or more years related experience working with persons with disabilities preferred;
  2. Current TB clearance; 4. Current Driver's License with valid automobile insurance and reliable personal transportation (mileage reimbursement included);
  3. No history/conviction of abuse, neglect, theft, or other job-related crimes; and
  4. Upon hire you will be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check required by State Contract. Days/Hours of Work: This position requires remote and hands-on clinical and administrative tasks. The schedule is created based on the needs of the participants with respect to the availability of the nurse. This position serves both sides of the island with periodic telehealth and mileage reimbursement available to encourage flexibility.

Communication Demands: This position requires oral and written communication with supervisor, employees, co-workers, families, participants, and government agencies. Must have the ability to accept and give constructive criticism. Must keep communication open and clear between all parties (supervisor, participant, family, government agency, DSW).
